Take a Snake
by Corey Lunn
In this book of paintings, drawings, and collage, Corey's mastery of a schizophrenic range of techniques and media accumulates into an intense visual experience. At first glance these works seem like they may have come from many different artists. But these diversely rendered psychadelic landscapes, absurd creatures, and obsessively detailed abstractions cohere into a feeling of "befuddlement and an implication in one's own misunderstanding."
Corey Lunn is a modern day rennaisance man—sculptor, illustrator, sign painter, d.j., animator, sound artist, painter of photorealistic pet portraits. His work has been shown in various national and local exhibitions, including a solo show at the 2008 Time Based Art Festival in Portland. He is represented by Fourteen30 Contemporary. This is his first book.
